Supporter |Resolved: I received an arbitrary denial of a property loss claim.
The issue was "resolved" May 20, 2026, when I received a letter denying my claim. (I am unable to input a date for "When was your issue resolved?" The calendar does not respond.).
Make sure you leave NOTHING behind in a Hilton hotel room. Sedgwick exists to be Hilton's insurance guard dog.
If my claim wasn't granted, then NO claim will ever be settled in a claimant's favor. They are too big to fight.
N/A. This was a claim for lost property.
Home the same day, I didn't unpack, (when I would have come across my jewelry had I actually packed it). Instead, I awoke suddenly in the middle of the night, knowing that I'd left my jewelry behind, and exactly where I'd left it. On the morning of April 13, I checked my suitcase and the car multiple times, but knew it was futile. I called the resort and initially the manager, Jose Garcia Holguin, was understanding, providing me with a form, the Alleged Guest Missing Item Statement to submit a claim to HGV's insurance provider, Sedgwick.
He checked with housekeeping, but housekeeping stated they saw nothing while cleaning the unit. Mr. Holguin assured me that housekeepers check every inch of the rooms, bathroom drawers included, but saw nothing. I asked Mr.
Holguin to ask the guests who’d moved into the same unit only a few hours after our departure if they had come across anything in the drawer. He refused, saying, 'We can't accuse our guests of theft.' I tried to explain that there's a world of difference between accusing them of theft and instead saying, 'Previous guests say that they left something in a bathroom drawer. Have you perhaps seen anything?' If the response had been no, then that would have been that. But he would not.
Mr. Holguin became unpleasant when I insisted that I left my property there, and that it must be on the premises. He said his housekeepers are honest and have never stolen anything. It's understandable he would say that.
Of course he would. (For the record, I never once used the word stolen. I simply kept repeating that I KNEW where I left my jewelry.) A few days later, I received a call from Sedgwick claims adjuster Jennifer Moore. She was delightful, asked for a detailed description of my jewelry, its value, and the chain of events.
She was so kind that at the end of our call I was left with the impression that a settlement for at least half of my jewelry's value might be possible. In retrospect, it was all a performance. About a month later, I received a decision letter from Ms. Moore.
Sedgwick denied the claim, their main justification being that my property was not in the care, custody or control of the hotel, a claim that doesn't hold up given the facts. I was a registered guest, the item was lost/left in a guest room. This denial felt arbitrary and not grounded in the actual circumstances of my stay.
Between the resort's ultimately unkind handling of the situation and Sedgwick's denial built on a factually questionable premise, this experience has left me with little confidence in either HGV's guest service or Sedgwick's claims process. No matter how well a guest may document everything pertaining to a claim, no matter how justified a claim may be, it appears that Sedgwick and HGV can, and do, rule as they damn well please.
- Sedgwick will rule against those making a claim
- Re property loss claims
Preferred solution: I would like half of the value of my jewelry left on the property insured by Sedgwick - $615.00
User's recommendation: Before departing, check your hotel room multiple times for forgotten items, as Sedgwick will NEVER rule in your favor.

My doctor said they already sent you. all my medical reports so I dont understand why.
No cover my medicine the contract were signed I have my right to take my medication for life. If we can reach an agreement to do an evaluation. Of the medical treatment and reaching an agreement I am open to any agreement that benefits me. My medical control since it is very important for the control of the pain of the nerves that were cut and repaired I was left with a permanent chronic pain it is very necessary not to stop taking the current treatment.
I need the payments that I have made for my medicines. The lawyer already has those receipts and they were sent to you please I need a solution. I can't continue paying for my medicines because the agreement that was signed with the judge is very clear that I don't have to pay for medicines or medical appointments at any time. Verified Reviewer |- - Adjuster never returns calls.
- - There are fake deposits and paper checks; no payment for a month; funds sent to an unknown account.
From no callbacks to plain no customer service skills. Sedgwick seems to be running on guesswork.
My adjuster never returns calls and seems to be avoiding clients at all costs. Working from home is a benefit for them but not for clients trying to get business taken care of. I have had many problems with fake direct deposits and paper checks. When trying to get to the core concerns, my adjuster disappeared.
For one month and counting, I still have not received payment, and what's weird is we still do not know where or what account the funds were sent to. In the meantime, my attorney and I are still looking for back payments on direct deposits I never signed up for, while my adjuster plays hide and seek.
Way too much is going on with Sedgwick. They've fallen and can't get up!
- No say so
- For get about it
Preferred solution: Full refund

Im back to work today. However, there must be a problem with my return to work date as I am unable to log into our Walmart computer system. According to the manager, this is a Sedgwick issue as I have a full book of patience I need to get this resolved immediately.

Verified ReviewerHorrible service
- - Requested supervisor call about my disability claim.
- - No complaint process offered.
- - Claim closed 2 days after being told to submit info; advised to appeal.
I have repeatedly requested a call from a supervisor on my short-term disability claim. I was told I had 30 days to submit information, and they closed my claim 2 days later and told me I have to file another appeal.
I am beyond mad. I have asked to file a complaint and was told they don't have a complaint process. I asked for a supervisor and was told they would call Monday; still, no response.
I have repeatedly asked what they need. At this point, they are violating my rights, and I will see about getting a lawyer!

Verified ReviewerDelay on payment and 2 different account numbers
- - Communication is not timely.
- - It's not very professional and requires calling two or three numbers with no callbacks.
- - You have to pursue them.
The situation won't get resolved in a timely manner; it needs much better communication. Very disappointed.
It's not very professional.
It's too much for a person to call two or three different numbers, and when you leave a verbal message, they don't call back. You have to pursue them.
